The outside interface of the Pix will grab the IP address from the Gateway and since it will be in the DMZPlus zone on the 2Wire it will not affect my data network at all ?Īny thoughts on this would be appreciated ! Thank you. Can I marry these two networks into one happy family ? The newer 2Wire seems to want to be dominate but does not have the capabilites of the Pix of course.

My fear is that I have a Windows DC that is doing DHCP but I could always disable that. There is a device called a RM4100 that seems to want to be statically assigned and I don't know what exactly it is. My Pix is the Gateway to my data network (a 172 network) but may be it will pickup the same IP address from the Gateway it is using now. One thought I had was to change the subnet on the 2Wire to the same one as my data network.

I really do not want to change my subnet with some devices statically assigned. The new 2Wire will not allow me to put the Pix into the DMZPlus zone unless it accepts DHCP from the gateway. They changed out both receivers but I did not realize they switched out the gateway as well. On had no signal at all the other had blocky images. The 2Wire I kept on its on 192.168 subnet. Over-all not a lot of incoming traffic though. I remote in with RDP, web server, SSH FTP server, NAS Server with some services running, and other things going on. I had a 2Wire Gateway and simply put my Pix in the DMZ zone so most unsolicited traffic would hit it. Like it a lot and I currently am on 12 Mbps so not bad. I have had Uverse for some time.may be approaching two years. I have four servers and about six other machines, two wireless access points, three network printers, two IP Cameras, and other sorted devices in a single subnet and everything is behind the Pix. I have a home office and it might be considered more elaborate than most.
